If you’ve been following me for a while then you know I’m not your average brand strategist.
I bounce around from title to title, go-with-the-flow and change up my visual mojo like some diva from a beauty pageant. If you’re quirky and weird like me, you’re first thought re: beauty pageant isn’t the eye candy display of Miss USA, Miss Universe, and the like but rather the dark + campy episode of Tales from the Crypt where “beauty is only skin deep.”
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, GOOGLE it!
Don’t mind my ode to the 80s. I just finished watching the first 2 episodes of Netflix’s breakout summer hit “Stranger Things” and it’s singing to my inner 80s child. It’s a “strange” series that’s captured the essence of E.T., Stand By Me, Carrie, Firestarter, Halloween, Poltergeist, and V. The factor that it has Winona Ryder in it is pure retro!
Before I started watching the series I was scheduling some of my SM postings and right after episode 2 I started perusing Google analytics. Right after I schedule this email I will make my way to bed but first I will do a PM meditation and do a dream reading over at my alter.
For me, being multi-passionate is not a cliche or trendy word of the moment. It’s how I live my life. It’s how I find peace of mind. It’s how I create the confidence to do what lights me up, on my own terms, and with apologizing for what I crave.
There are different ways to honor your multi-passionate self.
It’s not always about juxtaposing your diverse interest into one weird business that no one is going to get, although if you want to be a basket weaving life coach who teaches sexual meditation as a way to organize your accounting business, I’m sure there’s a market for that!
The thing about being multi-passionate, it’s about giving yourself permission to love what you love and having the audacity to express it.
If you don’t drink the kool-aid, you can’t authentically sell it as the best thing since the peanut butter jelly song. If you’re multi-passionate then you live it, you don’t try to make it into something it’s not.
Multi-passionate soulpreneurs are people who embody all their diverse interests into a business that’s uniquely positioned with your AH-MAZE-ING personal brand. It’s how a “Mid-Life Crisis Whisperer” stands out from all the “Vanilla Jane Doe” life coaches.
- I’m into pop culture.
- I’m a child of the 80s.
- I’m snarky but I don’t curse online, but only because my family is there and not because it’s “inappropriately unprofessional.”
- I love pink and purple, and when people told me that my branding would only appeal to girly women, little did they know that my brand has attracted a decent amount of men who DGAF about my color palette.
- I have more typos in my copy than I’d like to admit.
- I write really long emails, which also goes against what you’re “supposed” to do.
But my knowledge, skill set, expertise and experience is on par with many of the leaders in my industry.
We’re all saying the same shit. We just deliver the goods differently. We package magic so that it presents differently. Because, at the end of the day, we’re all good enough to do in our own multi-passionate way.
Do you consider yourself multi-passionate? And if so, how do you define it for yourself?
